Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel or Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational and budgeting skills, and a commitment to providing an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree or Ausbildung in Hospitality Management, experience in staff coordination and budgeting, and fluency in both German (B2–C1 level) and English. As a manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of the hotel or restaurant, maintaining high service standards, managing the team, and handling guest concerns with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel or restaurant, ensuring all areas are running efficiently and guests are receiving excellent service.
- Manage and train a team of staff, providing leadership, motivation, and support to ensure high levels of customer service and team performance.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery.
- Coordinate all departments (e.g., kitchen, front desk, housekeeping, bar) to ensure seamless communication and smooth service.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.
- Maintain and manage the establishment’s budget, including forecasting, cost control, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract guests, increase occupancy, or promote special events and offers.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring that supplies and stock are ordered and maintained efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as any local laws and hospitality industry standards.
- Organize and supervise events, conferences, or functions, ensuring that guest needs are met and services are executed flawlessly.
- Manage guest reservations, monitor booking channels, and implement strategies to optimize room or table occupancy.
- Collaborate with other managers and department heads to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Ausbildung in Hospitality Management.
- Proven leadership experience in hotel or restaurant management, with strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Budgeting experience, with the ability to manage finances effectively and implement cost-control measures.
- Fluent in both German (B2–C1 level) and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and external partners.
- Strong guest orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and creating a positive guest experience.
- Excellent problem-solving ability, with the capacity to handle difficult situations or complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Knowledge of hospitality software systems (e.g., property management systems, booking platforms, POS systems) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
