Job Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Assistant Nurse (Pflegehelfer/in) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support in patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. You will assist with daily living activities, help patients with mobility, and ensure they are comfortable and well cared for. The ideal candidate will have basic nursing or caregiving training (e.g., ANM diploma), at least 6 months of experience in patient care, and a compassionate nature with physical resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Help patients with personal hygiene and maintain their comfort and dignity.
- Support patients in rehabilitation exercises and assist with physical therapy routines.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Assist in the administration of medications as directed by the nurse or doctor.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in patients’ rooms, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients who require help.
- Help in repositioning bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting any changes in condition.
- Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed, such as sterilizing equipment and handling waste.
- Support the nursing team with tasks that promote patient comfort and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Basic nursing or caregiving training (e.g., ANM diploma, Pflegehelfer/in training).
- German language proficiency (B1 level) required for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in patient care, preferably in a healthcare or elderly care setting.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others and improve their quality of life.
- Physical resilience and the ability to assist with patient mobility and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with both patients and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow care instructions and safety protocols.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or night shifts, if needed.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with elderly patients, those with disabilities, or patients requiring rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of basic first aid or CPR.
- Familiarity with patient care management software.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
